2016 Summerfoto 3 Day Photo Camp

Our 3 day Summer Photo camps immerse children in all areas of photography instruction while working in a professional portrait studio in bustling Hayes Valley. Kathi O'Leary, a talented San Francisco portrait photographer, marks her 14th year of dedicated photography teaching to kids and adults, sharing her tips on composition, controls, lighting, portraiture, nature shots, cityscapes and special effects. To complete the picture students learn to organize photos in Lightroom, edit in Photoshop and will review online photo sharing sites for inspiration and participate in group discussion of our photo library of important photographers. Each student has use of a dedicated Mac computer and 21 inch screen. Out of the studio our small groups experience wonderful field trips to SF landmarks to see the city through their camera lens. The curriculum is flexible for beginners and for returning/advanced students and we always emphasize photo habits, expression, meaning and intent. Kathi's goal is to get kids to love photography and to make it their own! Our tuition includes all materials, online gallery, matted prints, field trips, a formal photo show put on by the students for family and friends. Note: Students who study with Kathi are eligible to return for her intern program from ages 14 to 17 and may apply for paid assistant positions at age 18 and above.
