Camp Stitch - Pajama Party Kids Summer Sewing Camp

Learn to sew this summer at Camp Stitch! Led by Kristen Takakuwa, who has been teaching sewing to kids and adults for over 8 years, we provide a supportive, fun, and stress-free atmosphere for exploring adventures in sewing. Just like learning to ride a bike, learning to sew is a life skill your camper will never forget.

During camp, the students will learn how to operate a sewing machine, how to take body measurements, and define commercial pattern terminology. Campers will make pajama pants and a matching pillow case, as well as have time for independent sewing practice. At Hello Stitch, campers will have access to our sewing machines and tools. We will also provide all supplies needed for the camp projects. All your camper has to do is show up, be ready to learn and have fun! Independence in sewing can open the door to endless creative opportunities for your camper. This camp is available to kids in 4th through 8th grade.

drop off and pick up information

Please be courteous and pick up your camper on time. We charge a late pick-up fee of $20.00 per hour pro-rated to the nearest half hour. All late payments must be provided upon arrival and paid directly to the teacher.

After-care from 3-5pm can be arranged for $150/week with a 3 student minimum enrollment. Contact us if you're interested!

How to prepare

At Hello Stitch, your camper will be provided with all the tools they need for the week. That includes a sewing machine! We will also provide a choice of project materials and threads.

Do you own your own domestic home sewing machine and would like your child to learn how to use it? If it is in good, working order, you are welcome to bring it to camp! If you have the owner's manual, please send it along with your machine.

Additional Notes

We will provide a yummy, healthy morning snack,* but camper's will need to bring their own lunch every day except for Friday, when we will have a pizza party!

*Please let us know in advance about any food allergies.
