Magnificent Marine Mammals, Commonwealth, 10-11

Marine mammals are warm blooded like humans but are a lot cooler! Come experience a week filled with land and sea connections to learn about our world’s ocean-dwelling mammals and their diverse habitats. Each day we will visit a different site to meet these fascinating creatures up-close and personal. We will visit the California Academy of Science’s underwater ecosystems, Aquarium of the Bay’s otters, Pier 39’s sea lions and Chrissy Field Center’s beach. Finally, we will go on a cruise in the Bay to look for blue and humpback whales and perhaps even dolphins! Through hands-on activities we will learn the importance of marine mammals to the ecosystem and how we can protect these awesome creatures.

Campers will take public transportation to the different destinations. On Thursdays, campers will need to arrive at Pier 39 at 7:30am for an 8am whale watching cruise. Celsius will help parents communicate directly with each other to arrange for car pools.

Note: Includes $30 material fee, lunch meals and AM/PM care are available. Please contact Celsius and Beyond directly to purchase.
